"Go away I havn't got time for the living."

Thoughts on Cemetery Man.

Flaming blue marshmallow fairies. Seriously.
Rupert Everett is sexy, this of course is nothing new.
Film is very pretty. Even the deaths, which are creative, are almost graceful.
Gorgeous woman with a real body is a nice change. Yay for foreign films.
Creepy bald uncle fester/igor type dude.
Glass coffin ala Snow White even though she looks more like bride of Frankenstein.
Zombie riding a motorcycle.
Walking head without legs?!
Pro-active zombie killings.
Camera guy with amazing chops.
Eunuch shots. Still better than his original plan. ahhh true love.
I must talk to you = Let's make out while the camera revolves around us.
Previously mentioned gorgeous woman not so gorgeous now.
How the fuck do people talk with cigarettes in their mouths?
Nun head-shot.
Not nearly enough VW bugs in movies, especially ones with coffins strapped to the top.
Sort of a romantic horror with a bit of comedy in it.

2009 Scream Awards/Fall TV Season

Voting for the 2009 Scream Awards started recently. For those of you not familiar with the Scream Awards they're kind of like the Oscars for Horror, Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Comic Books. Of course they're not quite as important as the Oscars but at least Spike awards things I actually enjoy. I'm kind of surprised the Supernatural was completely ignored though. IMHO it should have been included in Best TV Show and Best Ensemble, hell Jim Beaver should have been included for Supporting Actor as well. Bobby is awesome. I also think they overlooked a ton of amazing comic artists but at least they didn't include Greg Land right? Anywho, one inclusion that did make me extremely happy was Eden Lake in the category for Best Foreign Film. I won't go into how much I love this movie again you can scroll down for that. ;-p

Just a quick bit on the upcoming Fall TV Season. I really wish I could smack the CW and Fox upside their heads for scheduling Supernatural and Fringe at the same freaking time!! Didn't it occur to them that maybe these shows share a lot of the same fan base? Not everyone can afford DVRs so someones ratings are going to take a hit cause of their poor planning. I adore both shows and have yet to decide which I'm going to watch on TV and which gets regulated to reruns. Probably Fringe but since I have no intention of watching Vampire Diaries it would certainly be easier to just keep it on Fox for the evening since Fringe follows Bones another of my favorite shows. Looks like Smallville has been demoted to Fridays which isn't that surprising really. I still laugh everytime I read about it getting a spin-off. Maybe they should focus on making Smallville consistently good before they do that. Like maybe bringing back Lex? Pretty pretty please.

More Maniacs...........

2001 Maniacs : Beverly Hellbillies just finished shooting. Some of the cast is back but Robert England has been replaced by Bill Moseley, which I'm sure will be great. They released a press release which you can read on their Facebook page. I havn't seen a release date yet but I'm so freaking excited for this movie!!!

2001 Maniacs

Mega short post cause beer and blogging is bad.
2001 Maniacs. I love this movie in all it's cheesy goodness. It's right up there with Slither for me. Anything involving Nathan Fillion and James Gunn makes me a very happy girl. Anyways, just found out there was a comic for it. It will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine.

Eden Lake - *jaw dropping*-

Some time ago I won a copy of Eden Lake from Freddy in Space (my favorite horror blog) and having two months off after my recent surgeries I had some time to watch it finally. As much as I love horror movies I am also a complete chicken and can't watch really good ones alone at night since I live in an old noisy apartment building and have an overactive imagination. Normal people hear a noise and realize it's the pipes or neighbors using the bathroom. I hear that noise and become convinced that there's someone in the ceiling about to do horrible things to me and my corpse. Yeah, I'm weird.

Anyways, back on topic.... Eden Lake is about a couple who stay out in the wilderness for a weekend and the everything that happens to these poor people while they are there. It's vaguely in the vein of Last House on the Left but not really, that's just the best comparison I could come up with. I love this movie!!! It's the first movie where I have done absolutely nothing but watch, I have a very hard time sitting still and only doing one thing so this is saying alot. (At the moment I'm blogging, on facebook and watching Burn Notice.) I think what I loved the most about Eden Lake is that it is so utterly realistic. The teens in the movie actually look and act like the ones you see hanging out in the mall not like the belong on Gossip Girl. And everyone in this movie can act!! I want to say more but I don't want to give anything away about it but I think that if I wasn't shocked by the actions of some of the characters I probably would have cried. It's one of those movies that leaves you sitting staring at the screen in a state of disbelief. Amazing.

Needless to say, if you like horror or suspense movies you NEED to watch Eden Lake. Watch it, rent it, borrow it, etc.
